LANGILLE, Frederick Hamilton - 91, of 31 Queen St., Truro,
passed away August 16, 2002, at home.
Born in Truro,
he was the son of the late Frederick Leonard and Stella (Jobb) Langille.
He was president and general manager of Provincial Motors in Halifax
until he retired from the car business
to form East Coast Realty where he derived great satisfaction
from buying, remodeling and selling developed property.
He was a member and elder of First United Church, Truro
and very active in the Masonic Lodge attaining the 33rd degree.
He enjoyed golf, tennis, curling as well as gardening,
reading and playing bridge.
He was a quiet benefactor to many individuals, charities and groups.
Fred is survived by his loving wife, the former Marjorie Gladys Kidston;
daughter, Pat (John) Newcombe, Centreville;
sons, Don (Cheryl), California;
Ken (Isabel), Dartmouth;
sister, Elizabeth Johnston, Truro;
grandchildren, Ian, Scott, Bruce, Leslie, Amy, Janet, Robert, David;
great-grandchildren, Rachel, William, James, Katlyn.
He was predeceased by sister, Marjorie Langille.
Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Monday, August 19, with a Masonic tribute service
at 7 p.m. in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro,
where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 20,
Rev. David MacNaughton officiating.
Interment in Watson Cemetery.
Family flowers only.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Memorial Fund of First United Church, Truro.

Marjorie Gladys Langille

Langille, Marjorie Gladys, Truro,
died peacefully in her 98th year at home on March 30, 2009
in the arms of one of her beloved caregivers, Betty Snow.
She was born and raised on the family farm on Church Street, Port Williams
and following her marriage to Frederick H. Langille
resided in Halifax and later in Truro.
Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, Frederick;
her brother, Robie Kidston (Edith);
her parents, Owen Kidston and Evangeline (Boyle) Kidston.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Newcombe (John),
Donald Langille (Cheryl)
and Kenneth Langille (Isabel);
her nephews, Earl, Robert and Neil Kidston
and niece, Margaret Brown;
eight grandchildren, Ian Newcombe, Scott Newcombe, Bruce Newcombe, Lesley Bauer,
Amy Davis, Janet Charlton, Robert Langille and David Langille;
eight great grandchildren.
Marjorie was an active member of the First United Church, Truro.
She spent most of her summers at her cottage at Spencer�s Point, Colchester County
and many enjoyable winters in their home in Florida.
She also loved to cook, garden, curl, golf, and play tennis
and was happiest when doing for her family.
The family would like to thank Dr. Trevor Locke for his kindness, home visits and empathy
along with the wonderful team of caregivers whom we consider our extended family.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 4 from 1:00-2:00 pm
followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm,
both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro
with Mr. Leland H. MacLean D.L.M. from First United Church officiating.
Spring interment in Watson Cemetery, Truro.
Donations in her memory may be made to the First United Church, Truro
or a charity of one�s choice.
