Charles Russell Langille, member of Sports Hall of Fame died.

Oakland, N.S. Charles Russell Langille, 79, of Oakland died Tuesday in the Dawson Memorial Hospital.

Born in Oakland, he was the son of the late Charles & Eva (Rhodenizer) Langille. He was a farmer in the Lunenburg area most of his life. He was an active member of the dory racing championships, every year in which he participated for more than 21 years. He was inducted into the N.S. Hall of Fame in October 1982.

Surviving are sister Minnie Hamm, Maders Cove & several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Pearl Demont, two sisters Marion & Frances. The body rested at Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay.

Pearl Mildred Langille (nee Demone)

The death occurred early Tuesday morning May 22 of Pearl Mildred Langille at her home in Oakland at the age of 34 years. She had been in ill health for the past year.

She leaves to morn their loss, her sorrowing husband, father, sister Glennie, Mrs. John Kaulback, Oakland, brother Arthur of Blockhouse. She was of a bright and cheerful disposition and bore her illness with a smile.

The funeral was held on Thursday, May 24 from her home at 2:30 and was largely attended. The service was conducted by the Rev J.S. Dauphinee of Mahone Bay Luthern Church, of which the deceased was a member.

The hymns sung were: "My Faith Looks Up to Thee" "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth" and "Sun of My Soul". The paul bearers were Isaac Langille, Bruce Andrews, Colin Whynot, Peter Swinimer. Internment took place at Martins River Cemetery. Pillow: Husband & Charlie; Dad, Arthur, Rowena & Sharon. Sprays:-John, Glennie & family----.
