This is a free download, very useful program to view a Gedcom,
which means you can leave your own data open in your familytree software,
while viewing the new Gedcom.
GED2WWW
Need a way to convert your gedcom into HTML files,
so you can upload them to your website?
This free software is what you need then.
It takes a bit of frustration to get used to using it, but once you do it's terrific.

Family Tree Maker Software by Broderbund
This is the software I've used to keep track of my large genealogy database.
And as much as I love Family Tree Maker,
I can't honestly recommend you purchase it online
or through their 800 phone number - if you are in Canada!
WHY? - because of their prohibitive shipping charges & the GST charges that apply.
Try and find it in a local store if you can.
