The earliest known ancestor of this line was Frank Berry (1845-1925). Unconfirmed information might indicate that Frank was born in New York on 19 Dec 1845, however, the only substantiated information first finds him in Terry, Hinds Co., Mississippi in 1877. Frank Berry married Cecile Marie Neilsen, a native of Denmark. They lived the remainder of their lives in Terry, having had three children who lived to maturity: Frank E. Berry, Fred D. Berry, and Alma Berry Birdsong. Frank Berry died on 29 July 1925 and is buried in Terry Cemetery, Hinds Co., Mississippi.
