Reuben Berry

Reuben Berry was most likely born in Frederick Co., Virginia about 1750. In about 1754, Reuben and his presumed sister, Ann, were bound to Rose Ashby as illegitimate children. In 1761, Reuben Berry was residing with the family of Stephen Ashby in Frederick County. Reuben Berry and his wife, Sarah Unknown had the following children: Benjamin (born c.1773), Enoch (born c.1775), William (born c.1775), Anne (born c.1779), Joseph (born c.1781), Rebecca (born c.1783), Thomas (born c.1785), Elizabeth (born c.1787), Sarah (born c.1789), Reuben [II] (born c.1791), and Polly (born c.1793). Between 1780 and 1794, Reuben and family resided in Hampshire Co., Virginia. By 1794, Reuben Berry was in Mercer Co., Kentucky where he married his second wife, Sinah (Ashby) Robertson Featheringille. Reuben and Sinah were the parents of Lucinda, Parthena (b. c.1805) and Hannah (b. c.1810). Reuben Berry's will and inventory were filed in Hopkins Co., Kentucky on May 23, 1829.
