Green Berry

The earliest known ancestor of this line is Green Berry, but only his name is known. Green had a son, Asa Berry, (May 17, 1854 – June 20, 1896.) Asa married Maude Curlee, b. October 1864. The family is found in Simpson Co., Kentucky in the 1900 census. Children of Maude and Asa were: Chester A. (October 1881 – 1950), Prentice P. (June 1887 – October 1968), Bessie, (June 1889 – 1904), Jaysa, b. October 1892, Lucy (August 1896 – August 29, 1914), and Bernard (1885 – 1902). The family migrated to Quay Co., New Mexico by 1910, where they remained through at least 1940.

Asa, Bernard, and Bessie are buried in Shady Grove Cemetery, Franklin, Simpson Co., Kentucky. Chester, Maud and Lucy are buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Tucumcari, Quay Co., New Mexico.
