2006 Death of Gerald Lankshear

Gerald Lankshear 1918 - 2006 

Gerry's father was Ron's Uncle Tom. Gerry was in the rear guard at Dunkirk and was a POW in Poland. Finally escaped on the long march back to Germany and  was helped by a Polish family and he married their daughter and started a family in England and then migrated to Canada. Gerry and Zofia's family is a major contributor to Ontario and beyond. Bless Him and our thoughts and prayers are with Zofia and all their family.

LANKSHEAR, Gerald Alfred Frank. Passed away at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington, Ontario, on Tuesday, February 7, 2006, in his eighty-eighth year. Beloved husband of Zofia. Loved father of Penelope Lankshear of Mitchell, Richard and his wife Brenda of Burlington, Kenneth and his wife Sara of Burlington, Jill Lankshear of Pointe Claire, Quebec and the late Robin. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer, Pamela (Jason), Michael (Laura), Meghan, Alex, Jessica, Brian and Makenna and great-grandfather of Zachary, Sierra, Harrison and Chase. Cremation and a private family service have taken place. If desired, expressions of sympathy to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be sincerely appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Smith's Funeral Home, Burlington, 905-632-3333.
