BMD for Lankshear - Marriages Births and Deaths from 1837
FreeBMD is being updated each month and I try to keep an eye on as it could find new folk
last update 2/2008 which was major rewrite of the page
FreeBMD contains GRO references to Civil Registration which started in 1837
- Lankshear and similar - Search as Lanks* and Lankas* and Lankes*
- Why these searches well My Aunt Flora is there as Lankeshear
- and also 4 or so LANESHEAR
- Lenk* Lark* Lankish* do not give any hits
- As this search includes names that are not spellings variations I remove them - these are
- Lanksborg Lanksbury Lanksfor_ Lanksford Lankstead Lankston Lankstone
Marriages as I determine the spouse I raise a Year file for the Lankshear. FreeBMD has a function by clicking the page number on a marriage record - you then get all other entries with the same reference - these are the potential spouses - in early years a maximum of 8 names. later 6 or 4 sometimes just two names so obvious. With more than 2 I check following census for the spouse possibilities.
