1851 Francis and William Lankershire (Lancashire?) in Marylebone

HO107 / 1488 / folio 19 Marylebone, Rectory 13 Gees Court schedule 75

Fanny Downes Serv U 20 Servant Middlesex London
James Dickens U 22? Labourer Bath
Frances Lankershire Wid 70 [male] Servant Chalton Kent
William Lankershire U 35 Groom Middlesex London
Richard Wright U 21 Labourer Bath Som
William Reath U 22 Labourer Pimlico London
Joseph Slaton 36 Bricklayer Strand London

Frances is spelt thus, but the age is in the Male column.

There are 22 people living in the house, under 3 schedules. There is no Head of Household for the above schedule. Apart from a TREADWAY family, and a GILL husband and wife, the other inhabitants are mainly unmarried, mostly with different surnames, and few relationships are given -- they look like lodgers, but aren't described as such. The occupations are bricklayers, labourers, servants etc. Tell me if you want any more details.

Much of Gees Court seems to be like this, with a predominance of Irish (though not in this particular house). The address is opposite what is now Bond St Underground Station, quite close to Selfridges.

LANKERSHIRE is a way out spelling
Sounds like they were LANCASHIRE's
Alas I do not have any Francis in male line - a couple of Frank later but seem to be just Frank
If suppose it was a woman then no Miss or Mrs seems to qualify on age
William a very popular LANKSHEAR name - so popular I had to chart them carefully in case of confusion (name of the game anyway)

So I do not think they are really mine
But name spelling is sure within my collect block so Many Thanks

I suppose Gee court was a mass tenement so not boarders but not really household so EN did not show Head
