Dr. Joseph L. Cooper, after an illness extending over a year, died at his home on South Jefferson Street about four
o'clock Monday afternoon. He was a son of Robert L. Cooper grandson of James Cooper and Great Grandson
of Robert Cooper who came to Allegheny County from County Down, Ireland, in 1790, was born in Taylor township, two miles south of New Castle on February 18, 1861. The maiden name of his mother was Nancy A. Jackson. He received his early education in the schools of New Castle, & then attended the State Normal school at Edinboro & the Grove City Academy,
where he completed his general education. He entered Jefferson Medical College at Philadelphia and graduated in 1884. In 1887 he united in marriage with Miss Adella Hoover, a daughter of Ephraim Hoover, who still survives. The brothers
& sisters of the deceased are: James H. Cooper, Mrs. Elizabeth Campbell, Leander Cooper, Charles O, Cooper, Mrs. Mary Caldwell, Mrs. Maud Davis & Dr. Edwin S. Cooper. The funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon
and the interment made in Greenwood cemetery.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 am from the Church of God in Christ at Coropolis, Pa for the late elder Blackwell aged 55 pastor of the church who died Wednesday in the Sewickley hospital following a long illness. The service will be in charge of Bishop O.T Jones of Philadelphia.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery this city. Elder Blackwell was born in Kedron, Ark. 55 years ago & migrated to the east early in his life. Prior to his illness he was active in the ministry of the Church of God & had served for a number of years as pastor at the Caropolis church still being pastor at the time of his death.

Surviving are his widow Mrs. Dora Lee Blackwell & one brother. Elder James Blackwell of this city. The funeral party is expected to arrive in New Castle about 2:30 Monday afternoon when a short graveside service to be held.
