It's difficult to say when this picture was
taken, other than to say that it dates to about 1915 or as the youngest
child, Lois, was bornabout 1915. The woman in the center
would be Grace Minette Tryon, and the man to her left, at the back right
in the photo is Charles Newell Lee. My guess is the other man is
their oldest child, Newell B. Lee, to her right, my
grandfather. The reason I suspect this is the case the physical
resemblence, and the fact that there was aover threeyear age
difference between the two oldest boys, (10 of the 13 children were
boys.) Would love to hear from anyone who could definitively
identify each of the children. The sole identifiable girl in the
picture has to be Emily Flora Lee, b. 1906, and to her left, Robert
Edward Lee, b. 1907, Clinton Clifton Lee, b. 1909, who died of a farm
accident in 1914, is not visible here but it;s interesting that there
seems to be a space between Robert and who is Lloyd Clarence Lee, b.
1910, William Barnabus Lee, b. 1912, making the baby Lois Mabel
Lee. The picture was probably taken on the Roxbury
farm.Newell would have been about 20. Absent in the
picture would be Roland Charles Lee, b. 1905 and d. 1906, and Martha
Beatrice Lee, who is absent in the picture, b. 1897. The remaining
boys, probably Scott Tryon Lee, b, 1900, Theodore Roosevelt Lee, b.
1899, Eric Charles Lee, b. 1902 and Willard Everett Lee, b. 1904.
