The Fowkes family of Stafford, and Yorkshire | |||
Pemela Fowkes, born November 13, 1863, in Cradley Heath, Rowley Regis, Staffordshire. She married Walter Porter, October 5, 1882, in Middlesbrough, York. Together they owned a bakery shop in Middlesbrough, on the corner of Russell and Clarence St. Pemela and Walter had a staggering number of children. (See Porter page). Generation No. 1 John Fowkes, born abt. 1840, Stafford, worked as a furnace iron keeper, married Mary Jones, born abt. 1840, died 1876, Guisbrough, Yorkshire. Their children:
