research their LeValley ancestry. More specifically, it includes
useful preliminary information before one joins the LeValley e-mail
list
at RootsWeb.
LEVALLEY--NOT LAVALLEY
There are more LaValley families. They tend to be French-Canadian and Catholic. LeValley seems to be a distinctive Channel Islands spelling. (Unfortunately, few Channel Island records have been microfilmed, so it is very difficult to go back and check.) A LeValleyn family is recorded on the island of Guernsey as early as the 1200s. Few LeValleys remain in the Channel Islands today. They seem to have migrated, household by household, to various places in the United States and Canada. Most, if not all, of those immigrants were Protestants.

a. Living LeValleys from the telephone book.
b. Unknown LeValleys in old census records.
c. Various other fragments of LeValley information.

not already done so). There you can post your own inquiries and
maybe
get some help. Just send a message with the subject line

Lineage--Picking a common LeValley
ancestor, and locating your distant cousins.
