E. EDWARD LEWIS was born in Northumberland County, PA according to his military papers when he was in the Civil War. According to Census of 1860 he was living in Winslow Twp., Jefferson Co., PA with Jacob Lewis and his family, I believed Jacob and Edward were brothers. Then in 1870 they lived in the same area but Edward was married. In the census of 1850 in Northumberland Co., we found a John Lewis, Elizabeth Lewis, Jerimiah Lewis, John Lewis, Jacob Lewis and Edward Lewis living in Lewis Township. On these three censuses and on his military papers Edward's ages were such that he could have been born between 1833 - 1838. Now we would like to find John and Elizabeth (Unknown) Lewis' ancestry. According to the 1850 census everyone was born in PA. There may have been older children already out of the home in 1850 as John was listed as 66 years of age and Elizabeth was listed as 53 years of age. Glenna Colwell

ELIZABETH LEWIS who was said to have married to John BOLLING. Elizabeth, we are told, died, and John remarried to Elizabeth BLAIR. Elizabeth LEWIS's father is said to be John LEWIS, and she married in Gloucester County. She would have been born about 1700. However, I found a record in which another researcher says Elizabeth lived a full life, and was married to a John BOLLING. This, if true, indicated two John BOLLING's in the area, and that they were mixed up. Ken Poole
