BAKER and FULLER families of northeast Pennsylvania A family legacy worth remembering. In the 1830s, Robert and Elizabeth Baker with three kids under 5, made the trek into northeastern Pennsylvania, supposedly from Orange County, N.Y., and settled in the Fleetville area. A decade later, they would move even further south and eventually become neighbors to Aaron and Sarah Fuller, who with two young girls in tow, settled into Newton, Pa., as part of a group from Newton, N.J., looking to establish roots elsewhere. In 1859, the two families would be joined forever when the Baker's second son David and the Fuller's second daughter Emeline married in Pittston, Pa. Sometime after Emeline's death on November 15, 1901, two of their sons got the idea to start a family reunion to try and bring together the descendants of their paternal and maternal grandparents. And, so, what had been just a dream was put into reality on September 24, 1903, at Lake Winola, Pa., where the first Baker-Fuller Families Reunion was held. The rest is history as they say, and you have a great opportunity the weekend of August 9 and 10, 2003, to learn about it for the 100th time. Come join us.
