Daughter of William Norman and Euphany Harrison
1. Susannah Norman (William4, Joseph3, Isaac2, Joseph1) was born March 09, 1780 in Culpeper County, VA, and died November 1857 in Lincoln County, Ga. She married David Glaze November 13, 1798 in Lincoln County, Ga, son of Benjamin Glaze and Catherine Collins. He was born February 05, 1769 in either Virginia or Granville County, NC, and died December 16, 1820 in Lincoln County, Ga
Susannah is mentioned in the Census of 1830, Lincoln Co., GA 187th district. Capt Hilary Bostick's district. She is also named in the land lottery of 1821, Lincoln Co., GA as a widow, living in Capt. Stokes military district. She drew land in Henry Co., lot 151, section 15
Notes for David Glaze:
David Glaze is the son of Benjamin Glaze and Katherine Collins. He was in Wilkes County by 1791 when he sold some land in Granville County, NC which had been left to him by his father, Benjamin. He appears in Lincoln County, GA tax lists and in the 1840 census. He died intestate. His estate was settled with a sale on October 4, 1825 in Lincoln County. In 1809, David was Justice of the Peace in Lincoln County. In 1804-1818, David was administrator of the estate of Jesse Walker who was married to David's sister Margaret Glaze. He made payments on behalf of the orphan Walker children to guardians, who were brothers-in-law of Margaret (Glaze) Walker. On Jan. 4, 1802, David received 300 acres of land in Lincoln County for headrights for himself and two of his family. David Glaze was Justice of the Peace of Lincoln County in 1805. He was on the Lincoln County Tax Digest from 1802-1821, and owned several hundred acres of land. At the time of his death, he had 548 acres on Mill Creek adjoining William Norman. He did not leave a will and his son, Thomas Grant Glaze, was made administrator of his father's estate.
David and Susannah had fourteen children, three of whom died in early childhood. They reportedly lived in a log cabin on a site near where William Norman is buried. Susan (Susannah) Glaze, age 50-60 appears with children matching the ages of most of those in the Lincoln County, GA 1820 and 1830 census. She also appears in the 1840 and 1850 census of Lincoln County. Susannah left a WILL dated Oct. 21, 1843, and in her will she named ten children. All fourteen children are named in the Glaze family bible.
The family Bible which was printed in Philadelphia, Oct. 27, 1802 was purchased Anno Domini 1803 by David Glaze for eight dollars and fifty cents. It was in the possession of the daughters of Mrs. William E. Norman (Frances Ann Glaze). Frances was the great-grandaughter of David and Susannah. She was the daughter of Alexander Norman Glaze and Frances Cullars and married William Ellington Norman, the son of George Washington Norman and Roxanna Hawes. After their death in 2001, the bible passed to an unknown relative. I have pictures of the family pages of the bible posted here.
David and Susannah are buried in the William Norman Cemetery in Lincoln County on property now owned by a lumber company.

"In the death of Mr. Andrew J. Murray which occurred at an early hour last Saturday morning at his late residence near Goshen , everybody in Lincoln County felt a deep and sincere sorrow. The aged and respected man had been ill for sime time and his recovery had been despaired of by those of his family who nursed him tenderly in his last days. He was of rugged, strong constitution and had withstood the ravages of time and sickness longer than his three score and ten years. He was 84 years old when he died and until recently displayed wondrous vitality. For many years Mr. Murray lived in Lincoln County. Here it was that he married a daughter of the late Grant Glaze and their union was blessed with five children who are now grown up and prominent in the business and social circles of the communities in which they reside. The children are Mr. W. T. Murray, a prominent farmer of this county; Mr. J.P. Murray, who serves as United States Deputy Marshall of this district of Georgia; Mr. David Murray of Florida, Mrs. Will (Sarah) Drinkard and Miss Nancy Murray. There was widespread sorrow when news of the death of Mr. Murray was circulated last Saturday and the funeral which was held at the old Grant Glaze place last Sunday, was largely attended by saddened friends and relatives. The Lincolnton Masonic Lodge of which the deceased had long been a member buried their dead with impressive ceremonies and Rev. LeRoy conducted the funeral."
