Joseph Britton Carvell/Mary Hyle Carvell
First Generation:
Joseph Britton Carvell, b. 1 February 1821, Snyder County, Pennsylvania, d. 21 November 1889, Thompsontown, Juniata County, Pennsylvania, m. 2 September 1848, Mary Hyle, b. 30 July 1823, d. 2 January 1887, Thompsontown, Juniata County, Pennsylvania. Both are buried in East Salem Presbyterian Bretheran Churchyard, Delaware Township, Juniata County, Pennsylvania.
According to another researcher of this line (now deceased) her mother and aunt remember that during their childhood, their grandfather, Joseph Carvell, lived in a house directly off the square in Thompsontown. He made his living by making brooms and peddling them throughout the country.
