WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE??
Do You Know???

I have several guesses, but that's all they are! This photo was found in a box of my great-grandfather's belongings, all things relating to our family, consequently, it has to be family! No matter who they are, it's a great picture, ain't it???

First guess: Niess Family of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Reason: Great-grandfather was a Niess, and another Niess/Neiss researcher seems to think the people resemble some of the Neiss/Niess people.

Second guess: Mark Family of Michigan, formerly Centre County, Pennsylvania,
Reason: I have in my possession a letter written by my great-grandmother to her sister around the turn of the last century in which she asks if that photo of all the Marks out west has any address on the back. . . now this photo doesn't, and it could well be out west. In researching photos, I've discovered that those who went out west had their pictures taken, and a lot of times hung their fancy table cloths, etc. in the background in order to show those at home how well they were doing. And this has several fancy linens hanging in the background ~ but you can tell by the fit of their clothes, and their surroundings, that they weren't doing well!

If you have any idea who these people might be, won't you please let me know? and if they are related to you, I'd be delighted to take a photo quality print and send it your way as a reward!
