If you are researching this line, please contact me! I'd love to exchange information with you!

First of all, my disclaimer! I am not descended from this line, but my children and grandchildren are! My first marriage was into this family. I am researching this line for my children and their children.

The names in italics are the line of descendancy. William Henry Bowman was my ex-husband's father; Ruth Marjorie Hall was his mother. They are buried together in Hemet, California. The grave is marked with only his name.

The Hiatts, McClarys and Houks appear together on almost all of the census records I find. Perander's wife Lauretta's parents were Andrew McClary and Susan Daucel. Where the Houk in her name comes from, I have no idea! She may have been married before Perander; I've yet to find proof of that.

Perander and Lauretta's son, AC (as he was known) married Laura Ellen Smith and her mother's maiden name was Houk! Just trying to keep census records straight has been an effort on this line.

What is known is this: Perander appears on a Guardian Bond in 1865 as a witness for Milton Hiatt. Also appearing as a witness are Milton Hiatt, P. J. Hiatt, Jas. Crawford and W.P. Hiatt. Evidently Milton was the guardian of Lawrence, Allen and Rebecca E. Hiatt and those five men agreed that he could do it! Perander was a farmer on all of the census records. On the 1870 census, his in-laws live two doors down from him and the Houks live next door; On the 1880 census, his mother-in-law boards in his home, as she is a widow by then, (also boarding is a 14 year old servant named Alice); since there is no 1890 census, we loose the mother-in-law, she must have died before the 1900 census. Perander and Lauretta are living alone and his son, Andrew, his wife Ellen four children live next door! Andrew and Ellen were married 10 years at that time and Ellen only had 2 children. What happened to the mother of "Clevey" and Elizabeth, I haven't found out! Stay tuned ~ I'll keep working on this one!
