Obituary of Ruth Marjorie Hall Bowman Ditton

Ruth was the grandmother of my children, their father's mother. Her first marriage to William Bowman ended with his death in 1964, her second marriage to Alfred Ditton ended in divorce several years before her death. She died in Riverside and is buried in Hemet, California along with her first husband. She shares a gravesite, however the headstone does not reflect this yet. This is the obituary of her death as it appeared in the The Press-Enterprise Riverside, CA ,July 24, 1994, page B08:

Riverside: Ruth Ditton

Graveside services for Ruth Marjory Ditton, 73, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery. She died Thursday of pneumonia at Riverside Community Hospital.

Cremation Society of Riverside County is handling the arrangements.

Mrs. Ditton, who was born in Ohio, lived in Riverside 38 years. She previously lived in Hemet for three years and then in Washington for a year before moving back to Riverside. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed cats and reading. She had worked as a librarian in Rubidoux. Mrs. Ditton is survived by two sons, Greg Bowman of Rialto and Jeffery Bowman of Riverside; a daughter, Cindy Rogers of Rogers, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
