County Sessions
On Monday last the sessions for the trial of prisoners in the Liverpool county house of correction commenced in the court room of the town hall The Rev Jonathan BROOKES was chairman The following is a list of the criminals who have taken their trials, with their sentences.
To be transported for seven years -
James GREENOUGH 58, for stealing sundry articles at Bedford
Phoebe PARRY 57, for stealing a car cover at Liverpool
To be imprisoned for two years-
Francis O'NEILL 16, and Wm PRICE 15 for stealing one brass pan and two
pieces of copper, at Liverpool
To be imprisoned for one year-
Martha ALLANSON 35, for stealing a shawl at Ormskirk
Thomas ROTHWELL 14, for stealing a petticoat and shirt at Winstanley
Mary Ann GILLASPIE 22, for stealing Bank of England notes, at Liverpool
Isaac BROMILOW 17 for stealing poultry at Bold
Ellen COLLINS 22, for stealing 10ilbs of copper at Liverpool
Ann SMALL 45, for stealing a tea kettle at Liverpool
To be imprisoned for nine months-
John BOARDMAN 30, for stealing a quantity of glass at Eccleston
To be imprisoned for six months-
John ELLIOT 15, for stealing a handkerchief and shawl at West Derby
Elizabeth JENKINS, for stealing Bank of England notes at Liverpool
Michael SENIOR 40, for stealing silver coin at Warrington
Mary LINTON 18, for stealing silver coin at Liverpool
Ellen ROBERTS 30, for stealing pillow cases and other articles at Orrell
Peter KELLET 45, for stealing coffee at Liverpool
Thomas BLUNDELL 19, for stealing poultry at Burscough,
Edward PRESTON 22, for stealing a wheelbarrow at Wheelin
Wm WALLEY, for stealing beans at Liverpool
Wm CUMSTY, 25, for stealing 6 lbs of ham and a quantity of copper coin at
Liverpool
Esther TATTERSHALL 18, for stealing 18 yards of printed cotton at Liverpool
John THOMAS 45, for stealing wearing apparel at Liverpool
Daniel TAYLOR, 18, for having implements for housebreaking in his possession
