Oma's grandfather, Jerome Dauchy, came from France to New York. He had an
oxen train & hauled freight, salt port and flour from Omaha to Denver and
hauled dry goods and furs back to Omaha. Buffalo Bill Cody worked for Jerome
Dauchy as a scout. Jerome had 100 head of oxen to pull wagons. She was the
one who always used starter bread. They liked their family to eat together
so they made a long table with long benches on each side. (Francis Hinton ;96
