Berryman married Delphia Childers daughter of Robert Childers and Lydia Wilkinson, born abt 1803 and died 2 Nov 1859 on 4 Jul 1821, Lincoln Co, NC. Delphia and Berryman are buried at Hopewell United Methodist Church, Sherrills Ford, Catawba Co, NC. Berryman does not have a headstone.

BASSETT, Va. - Ophelia (Cookie) Alma Cooke Shepherd, 100, of Stanleytown Health Care Center, Bassett, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Stanleytown Health Care Center, Bassett.
She was born June 28, 1904, in Maiden, N.C., a daughter of the late Robert Brevard Cook and the late Mary Ellen Whisnant Cook.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Hill Shepherd; three sisters, Lala Cooke, Edna Cooke and Irene Wood; and two brothers, Raymond Cook and Elam Cook.
She graduated from Boiling Springs High School. She attended Meredith University and received her degree from Boiling Springs Junior College, Now Gardner-Webb University, with a music education degree. She became an instructor at McNell�s Beauty School in Wytheville in the early 1940s, and operated beauty shops at Laurel Fork and Martinsville for over 40 years.
A devoted Baptist her entire life, she was active in all aspects of church life. A member of First Baptist Church of Martinsville, where she was a member of The Placide Mitchell Sunday School class. At Stanleytown Health Care Center, she was active and attended numerous activities, especially those of musical origin.
One of her greatest pleasures was a trip to Europe in the late �80s. She lived a long and accomplished life and personified a positive outlook on life through her love for music, flowers and family.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ernie B. Shepherd and his wife, Verna R., of Bassett; her brother, Earl D. Cook of Maiden, N.C.; and two grandsons, Brentley (Brent) David Shepherd and Kenten (Ty) Taylor Shepherd of Bassett.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at 11 a.m. at Collins Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Bobby Rakes officiating.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Maiden City Cemetery, Maiden, N.C., with the Rev. Nathan Austin officiating.
The family will receive friends tonight, Monday night, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Collins Funeral Chapel, and other times at the home of Ernie and Verna Shepherd, 513 Fairmont Drive, Bassett.

NEWTON - Robert (Rob, Bobby) L. Cook, 67, of 404 W. Twelfth St., Newton, died Wednesday, May 25, 2005, at Catawba Valley Medical Center. Born Aug. 14, 1937, in Lincoln County, he was the son of Earl D. and Pauline T. Cook of Maiden. He was retired as a quality control supervisor with Mom�s & Pop�s in Claremont and was assistant manager of Twin City Lanes in Newton. Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife of 48 years, Frances Teague Cook of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Robby and Diane Cook of Newton; a brother and sister-in-law, Rickey and Annette Cook of Maiden; a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and James Queen of Maiden; a grandson, Robby W. Cook Jr. of Newton; a granddaughter and her husband, Dawn and Danny Williams of Newton; and several nieces and nephews. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2005, at Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Nathaniel Austin will officiate. Burial will be in Eastview Cemetery. Music will be by Elaine Clontz. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight, Thursday, May 26, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m.
