Guillaume Larocque was the son of Antoine Larocque and Anne Morel was from Marssac-sur-Tarn, diocese of Albi, in the old French province of Languedoc (South of France). The picture is the bridge over the river Tarn at Marssac. Click on the image to enlarge it. He was born in 1682. He married Jeanne Boivin, daughter of Michel and Françoise Lorin in Montréal on March 21st 1717. (See the marriage certificate) He is on of the ancestor of brother André.

We find the Larocque dit Lafontaine mostly in the region between Montréal and the Richelieu River, Longueuil, St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Chambly. We find in that town a street with the name of the ancestor of the Larocque dit Lafontaine, rue Guillaume-Larocque, or is it one of his descendants ?
Other then the one street above, one more Guillaume-Larocque in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu.  There are also other Larocque streets honouring the three Larocque bishops in Sherbrooke, St-Hyacinthe, et Brompton.

Because I am a descendant of Philibert Couillaud dit Roquebrune, an other Larocque ancestor, it will seem that the section dedicated to his story is much more elaborate. You are not wrong. If you know about Guillaume LaRocque and want to share some documentation I will be please to add this information to this page. Thank you.
