My initial interest in the Love group was based entirely on a story my father told me. The recent YDNA match in the Love Group together with the absence of any matches to anyone with the Thomas surname does tend to support my father’s story.

According to family stories, my biological great grandfather was Burt Love of Traverse City, Michigan who is said to have had a relationship with my great grandmother in 1892. They never married.

Great Grandmother: Clara Townsend, Born Feb. 24, 1876, Died 1944, Buried Fountain City, IN Her husband was Frederick Thomas, Died 1932, Buried Fountain City, IN. Clara Townsend’s father was Van Doren Townsend, Died 1928

Grandfather: Howard Thomas, Born Feb. 1, 1893, Died Nov. 9, 1965, Buried Fountain City, IN.
