Welcome to My Genealogy Home Page!

I have been doing extensive research on my family history for  the past 5 years and have collected over 10,000 dead (and living!) relatives on my family tree.  Of course, not all of them will be included in this site - though I do hope to get the majority of my major lines included in this site.

You can search my Surname Index Page to see if any of your family surnames are listed there.  There are also complete, every name, indexes for two of my major family lines (BATES and STILTS) .  Links to them can also be found on the left side of every page.  With so many names, it was impossible to put them all into one index.

You can also look through the specific family pages and read about some of my ancestors and their families.  I hope to make this site interesting with pictures of family members as well as copies of documents and maps related to the families - so some of the pages may be graphics intensive.  I will also include additional links on each family's page that pertain to that family in particular.

Listed below are my eight major family lines, including a brief history of my particular branch of that family and where they lived.  These surnames are linked directly to that family's Surname Table Page.  You can also access these tables, and all my other surnames through the Surname Index Page

STILTS/STELTZ:  This family originated in Germany and lived right on the border between York Co., PA and Baltimore Co., MD from the mid 1750's to about 1812.  At about that time, my branch migrated to Richland Co., OH and a few years later, to Guernsey and Noble Counties, OH.

Related Lines:  HEDRICH/HETRICK, LONG, GILDOWSTEINBRENNER/STONEBURNER, and FAULEY.

LYNN/LINN: This line is connected to the Fayette Co., PA LYNN's who probably came from Northern Ireland, eventually settling in Allegany Co., MD and later settling what became Fayette Co., PA.  My branch moved to Noble Co., OH between 1855 and 1860.

Related Lines: SCARBOROUGH, VOORHEES, JOHNSON.

Green B
BATES: This family encompasses the descendants of Elder Edward BATE(S) of Weymouth, MA.  My branch moved to Cummington, MA and then to Geauga Co., OH and finally settling in Allegan Co., MI about 1857.  This family includes the largest collection of relatives I have found - by far.

Related Lines: GILBERT (of CT), THOMAS, WHITMAN, LINCOLN, STANDISH, ALLEN, CHITTENDEN and WOODWORTH.
