is my father's father and my Grandfather Roland Naas.He was born on Oct
16,1869 in Lunenburg,Nova Scotia,Canada.He was married to Nellie Ella Naugle on
Mar27,1896 in Lunenburg.He lived his entire 89 years in Lunenburg and lived the
last 40 years with his sister Ethel Rose on Pelumn St in the middle of town.He
worked as a sailmaker on Fox street for 73 years and his bench and all his tools
were confiscated by the Canadian Government for a Nautical Museum.He was
a long time member of the Lutheran Congregation of Lunenburg.He was the lead
sailmaker making the sails for the famous salt banker"The Bluenose"
Below is my father's mother and my grandmother Nellie Ella Naugle.She
was born on Dec25.1870 living for 87years in
Lunenburg,Canada,Boston,Mass.USA,Woburn,Mass.USA and back to Martin's Brook in
the county of Lunenburg,NS.where she died on Apr22.1958.She was an accomplished
pianist and in later years a farmer.I had the privalege of living with her for
my first ten summers and have good memories.
