ALERT! There was a man in New Amsterdam and Fort Orange named Teunis Jacobsz who arrived in 1640. Other Klaarwater family research alleges that the progenitor, Teunis Jacobsz, arrived in 1656. For research purposes, I have collected information on the men named Teunis Jacobsz with the purposes of determining which person is the correct Klaarwater progenitor. The man who arrived in 1640 was probably Teunis Jacobsz Van Schoenderwoert, the brother of Cornelius van den Bogert . . . It is unknown if Teunis Klaarwater arrived prior to 1656 although other records indicate a 1656 arrival date.
