From Wynne, travel south on US Highway 1.  At Colt, turn left on 306, travel 5 miles to the intersection of 284, turn left.  Travel 3/10 mile, turn right on a gravel road, then east on a farm road.  The cemetery is in a clump of woods and weeds.  (located in the vicinity of Loughridge Cemetery)

John Graham was a successful farmer and a member of the firm of Smith, Graham and Jones, merchants of Wynne, Arkansas in Cross County.  He was born in North Carolina, the son of C. C. and Mary E. Graham.  He and his family came to this area in 1854.  In 1863, John, when only 16 years old, enlisted in the Confederate Army, Company A of McGehee's Calvary Regiment.  He was captured by the enemy in 1864 and remained a prisoner until the end of the war.

 

He married Miss Jennie Allen, the daughter of Abijah Allen, in 1870. They were the parents of 8 children.  Four are buried in Allen Cemetery, three in Cogbill Cemetery.
