Gammons Cemetery is located at Gammonsville, Arkansas, three miles down Gammonsville Road. It may be reached by going down Highway
77 north of Marion. Turn on Gammonsville Road and go
a quarter of a mile from the home of John Gammon, Jr. The road is dirt and runs down the center of
the cemetery. Tombstones are on both
sides of the road.
The cemetery was designated for a
two family plot, Gammon and Freeman.
This space was taken for a cemetery because the men of the community
would be men on this land and plans for a cemetery were made.
The land was donated by Mr. C.
Freeman and Mr. John Gammon, Sr. Because
community members assisted with the planning of the cemetery, it was later
changed from a family plot to a community cemetery.
All visible and readable markers
were copied June 7, 1968.
