While my avocation is genealogy, my vocation is working with computers and software. Although my undergraduate degree was in French, I've been in the information technology field for over 20 years. I started out in programming and progressed upward through management. For the last 8 years or so, I've been a software consultant. I have traveled a lot and visited a lot of industries. I primarily concentrate on business solutions and working with manufacturing companies. I am single but have two wonderful daughters who fortunately have each married an exceptional man. My older daughter has given me two exceptional grandchildren - a girl and a boy. My younger daughter has a beautiful little girl and is expecting another child in the summer of 2005. I really like the saying that "if I had known how much fun grandchildren were, I would have had them first." I live in Michigan but still consider myself a transplanted southerner. Both my parents were from Louisiana and I lived there and in Texas when I was young. I think the Internet is a great tool and I have met numerous connections via email.
