Edward Maddox
1691 ~ 1771

   Edward Maddox was named after his father's father, the physician and apocothary.  He lived his entire life in Charles Co., MD.

     About 1720 he married Jane Speake.  Their children were John (named after his maternal grandfather), Ann, Edward (named after his father), Elizabeth, Rhoda, William, Jane (named after her mother)  and James (named after his paternal uncle) Maddox. 

     Edward owned "Damhouse Level" and "Blue Plains" plantations in Charles Co., MD.

     In 1735 he received payment from the estate of James Peele.  In 1745, he was named as a sibling to Anne Taylor, his half sister.   In 1750 he was one of the appraisers for the estate of Thomas Hudson.  In 1759 he was listed as next of kin in the estate settlement of his brother, James Maddox. 

     He died in 1771 in the Charles Co., MD, where he had been born.
