John SHAW and Polly TAYLOR of Northwood, NH were the parents of Winthrop Hilton SHAW, who served in the Civil War in F Company of the 17th Maine Infantry "Red Diamond Regiment" from 1862-1865. There were three marriages of record for W. H. Shaw, and it is by family record only that he was married to a 4th wife, Louisa Thorn. He died in 1899 at Wakefield, NH at the age of 71 of Bright's disease and left a very young widow, Agnes SAWYER Shaw. If there was an interim marriage to Louisa THORN there should also be a divorce of record.
