Their 1910 household in Liberty Township, Ringgold County, Iowa, ED# 117, sheet 6A, was headed by James A., age 37 and Emma A., age 33.  They both stated that they had been married for 15 years; Emma stated that she had given birth to 4 children, 2 of which were still living.  The two children listed in the 1910 household were: Samuel J., age 11 (could also be 14) and a daughter, Opal, age 9.

Nellie (England) Coffman family data contributed by Karen (Coffman) Kelly.

14.1.3 Joseph England, according to his biography, Joseph was born on 25 May 1835 in Mackinac County, Michigan (Mackinac County seems improbable--his parents were married in Cass County, Michigan in 1831 and then his father moved the boys west to Iowa).  His biography stated that he lived with the Joshua Marshall family in Wapello, Louisa County, Iowa.  In the 1850 Federal Census, page 128, he is listed as 15 years old, born in Ohio, a day laborer in the Marshall household.  He married Melinda Skinner on 28 February 1866, the daughter of James M. and Sarah (Hull) Skinner, of Guernsey County, Ohio.  In the 1880 Federal Census of Marshall Township, Louisa County, Iowa, page 496A, Melinda's sister, Mary Rodruck, age 49, and her two sons, John L., age 26, and Ira N., age 9, (all born in Ohio) were also living in the England household.  Joseph England died on 29 March 1893.  From his biography and the 1880 Federal Census, their children were:

14.1.3.1 Nancy J. England, the 1870 Census of Marshall Township, Louisa County, Iowa, page 2, shows her birth in about 1868.  Nancy married Jay F. Ross and resided in Henry County, Iowa.  Their marriage was recorded in Louisa County, Iowa on 29 May 1888.  The Ross family was living in Muscatine City, Muscatine County, Iowa, ED# 106, sheet 3B, in the 1900 Federal Census.  Jay F. Ross, age 40, gave his birth as May 1860 in Iowa and stated that his parents were both born in Ohio (I could not make out his occupation).  "Nanie J." Ross, age 31, gave her birth as August 1868 in Iowa, she stated that her father was born in Michigan and her mother was born in Ohio.  She also stated that she had given birth to one living child:  their daughter Viola, was age 10, born in August 1889.  Nanie and Jay both stated that they had been married for 12 years.

Nancy Ross was living in Winfield Township, Henry County, Iowa, ED# 41, sheet 1B, in the 1920 Federal Census.  She listed her age as 50, widowed, born in Iowa, father's birthplace Michigan, mother's birthplace listed as Ohio.  Their known daughter was:

14.1.3.4 Samuel A. England, was born on 17 September 1875.  His marriage to Ella J. Paisley was recorded on 28 December 1898 in Louisa County, Iowa.  his biography appears in Louisa County Biographies (online).  In the 1910 Federal Census of Marshall Township, Louisa County, ED# 97, sheet 7A, Samuel A. was age 35, Ella was also age 35, born in Iowa, they had no children and stated that they had been married for 10 years.  Samuel and Ella were living in Liberty Township, Clay County, Missouri, ED# 29, sheet 5A in the 1920 Federal Census.  Also living in their household was his sister, Mary E. Clark, age 47, married, however, Mary's husband was not listed in the household.  In the 1930 Federal Census, Samuel and Ella were still living in Liberty Township, Clay County, Missouri, they both listed their age as 55, there were no children listed.

14.1.3.5 Ida May England, was born in March 1876 in Iowa.  According to her brother Samuel's biography she married Calvin Black.  Ida M. and Calvin were living in Crawford Township, Washington County, Iowa in the 1900 Federal Census, ED# 110, sheet 7A enumerated on the 12th and 13th of June (Ida and Calvin both stated that they had been married for 5 years; Ida must have misunderstood the next question--she stated that she had given birth to 1 child, 0 of which were still living; she also incorrectly gave the birthplace of her parents as Ohio):

#151 151  Black, Calvin  head        May 1870  30  Iowa    Indiana    Indiana    farmer

I did not locate the Black family in the 1920 census.  In the 1930 Federal Census of Wenatchee, Chelan County, Washington, ED# 46, sheet 4B their household listed (street name unreadable):

Ida M. Black is listed in the Washington State Death Index, her date of death is listed as 23 April 1968, residence listed as Wenatchee, place of death listed as Douglas.  She would have been 92 years old.  The children of Ida May England and Calvin J. Black were:
