Descendants of Frederick Sager Harrison and Celestine Butler Descendants of Frederick Sager Harrison and Celestine Butler.  Frederick was the oldest son of Elias Stillwell Harrison and his first wife Mary Elizabeth Sager.

(15.1.1.2.1)/(13.7.2.1) Webster Harrison, born in May 1856, in Prairie Ronde Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan and died on 15 October 1930 in Queens, New York.  "Webb" married Ida Chipman on 25 March 1888 in Van Buren County, Book 5, page 85, #191.  Webb married (2nd) Cora Rathburn in about 1893.  Cora was born in September 1869 in Michigan and died in 1929.  In the 1900 Federal Census of Sherwood Township, Branch County, Michigan, ED# 20, sheet 4A (Webster and Cora both stated that they had been married for 7 years; Cora stated that she had given birth to 1 living child):

Webster and Cora are both buried in Sherwood Cemetery, in Branch County, Michigan (they are listed in "Rural Cemeteries of Branch County", Webster is listed as "Webster E. Harrison, 1853-1930" and Cora is shown as "Cora L. Harrison 1869-1929").  Their son was:

(15.1.1.2.1.1)/(13.7.2.1.1) Wayne Persons Harrison, was born on 19 November 1896 (WW I draft registration card; 1900 census stated 1895).  Wayne was married and living in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan, ED# 138, sheet 2A, in the 1920 Federal Census (appears to be an apartment in the household of Harvey and Ina Wynn, on S. Ingalls St.):

(15.1.1.2.2)/(13.7.2.2) Alonzo D. Harrison, was born in about 1859, in Kalamazoo County, Michigan.  "Lon" married Margaret Warren in about 1880; she was born on 28 March 1855 in Michigan, the daughter of Sylvester and Huldah (Johnson) Warren (from her death record).  In the 1880 Census of Climax Township, shortly after their marriage, Alonzo was listed as age 21, "Maggie S." was age 24.  Alonzo and Maggie were living in Leonidas Township, St. Joseph County, Michigan, ED# 114, sheet 2B, in the 1900 Federal Census (Alonzo and Maggie both stated that they had been married for 20 years; Maggie stated that she had given birth to 2 living children and also stated that her parents were both born in New York):

In the 1910 Federal Census of Kalamazoo, ED# 153, sheet 12A, household #273 of 287 listed: Alonzo D. and Margaret S. Harrison, ages 51 and 55 respectively, both born in Michigan, married for 30 years, his father's birthplace listed as Michigan, mother's place of birth listed as New York, her parents listed as both born in New York, his occupation was listed as a laborer in an envelope factory; she stated that she had given birth to two living children; with their son "Irvin J.D.", age 20, no occupation listed.  They were living next door to his cousin--William Nelson and Viania Tupper (grandson of William and America Harrison).  I located Alonzo and Margaret in the 1920 Federal Census of in Texas Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan, ED# 194, page 9B.  His name was recorded as “A.D.”, age was 61, Margaret, was listed as age 64.  They are living on a rented farm; his occupation was shown as “Farmer”.  Alonzo died in Texas Township in 1927 (Kalamazoo County Deaths, Book 4), however, he was buried and is listed in the transcription of Lakeside Cemetery, in Colon, St. Joseph County, Michigan.  Margaret Harrison died in 1939 and is buried in Hope Cemetery in Texas Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.  Their two children were:

(15.1.1.2.2.1)/(13.7.2.2.1) Erma Violet Harrison, was born in February 1882 in Michigan (additional family photos).  Erma married Walter F. Legg in about 1902.  Walter was the son of Leslie C. and Hattie M. Legg.  Erma died on 20 September 1918, she is also buried in Lakeside Cemetery, in Colon, Michigan.  The cemetery transcription gives her age as 38 years, 7 months and 14 days at the time of her death.  Her residence was listed as Detroit, Michigan.  In the 1910 Federal Census of Colon Township, St. Joseph County, Michigan, ED# 120, sheet 6A, enumerated on 19 April, their household listed (Erma and Walter both stated that they had been married for 8 years; Erma stated that she had given birth to 11 children, 5 of whom were still living; however, only 4 children were listed living in the household):

(15.1.1.2.2.1.2)/(13.7.2.2.1.2) Daisy Legg, was born in about 1907 in Michigan.  Daisy married (1st) George McDonald .  In the 1930 Federal Census, Daisy and George were living in Detroit City, Wayne County, ED # 348, Precinct 11, page 20A, address listed as 4538 24th St. (George and Daisy both stated that they were age 21 at the time of their marriage):

Daisy later divorced and remarried.  She died in 1937 and is buried next to her grandmother, Margaret Harrison, in Hope Cemetery, Texas Township, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.  Her marker reads Daisy McDonald-Gazowski.  Daisy had three children:

(15.1.1.2.2.1.2.2)/(13.7.2.2.1.2.2) Mary Ellen McDonald, was born on 19 January 1931 in Detroit, Michigan and died on 22 October 1999 in Three Rivers, Michigan (her photo and obituary).  Mary married LaVerne O. Beers in 1950 (their marriage announcement), they later divorced after 36 years of marriage in 1986, after the divorce she changed her last name to Ashlea.

(15.1.1.2.2.1.2.4)/(13.7.2.2.1.2.4) Nancy Gazowski.  Her name is listed as Nancy Sternaman in her sister, Mary's obituary in 1999.


(15.1.1.2.2.1.3)/(13.7.2.2.1.3) Ellis Legg, was born in about 1908 in Michigan.  Ellis is listed in the SSN Death Index, his date of birth is listed as 22 September 1907, date of death listed as August 1982 in Canton, Stark County, Ohio.


(15.1.1.2.2.1.4)/(13.7.2.2.1.4) Elvin Legg, was born in about 1909 in Michigan.  Elvin was newly married and living in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, ED# 6, sheet 6A in the 1930 Federal Census at age 20.  His occupation is listed as a surveyor, his wife Edith, also age 20, listed her occupation as a saleswoman in a store.  They had no children in 1930.  Elvin Legg is listed in the SSN Death Index, his date of birth is listed as 13 November 1909, date of death listed as September 1986 in Sumner, Lawrence County, Illinois.


(15.1.1.2.2.1.5)/(13.7.2.2.1.5) Dorothy Legg, was born in about 1912 in Michigan.


(15.1.1.2.2.2)/(13.7.2.2.2) John Irvin Harrison, was born in April 1890 in Michigan.  He was the informant on his mother's death record in 1939.  "Jack" Harrison owned the plots in Hope Cemetery where he, his mother, Margaret and his niece Daisy are buried.  John died in September 1962 and is also buried in Hope Cemetery.  Marie Mackey did find his death record from Kalamazoo County Deaths, Book 3, #708: he was born on 7 April 1890 in Michigan and lived on Phelps St., his mother was listed as Margaret (unknown) and father, Allan Harrison [sic, Alonzo], the informant was John E. Warner (or possibly Warren).

Dora (Hazen) Harrison, with grandson Rex Parks and Charles Harrison (it may also be Webster Harrison).

(15.1.1.2.3)/(13.7.2.3) Charles Benjamin Harrison, was born in March 1861 in Michigan and died in 1933.  Charles married Dora Hazen on 1 January 1885, Dora was born in May 1867, in Michigan and died in 1942.  In the 1900 Federal Census of Kalamazoo, ED# 110, sheet 8B, his name was recorded as "C.B. Harrison", his occupation was listed as a barber.  Their daughter, Fern, was still living in their household, she was age 14 years.  In the 1910 Federal Census of Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, ED# 135, sheet 9A, enumerated on 20 April, address listed as 215 W. Kalamazoo Avenue, their household listed (Charles and Dora both stated that they had been married for 25 years; Dora stated that she had given birth to 3 children, two of whom were still living):

In the 1930 Federal Census of Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo County, ED# 26, sheet 5B, enumerated on 5 April, Dora E. Harrison was a housekeeper at 1109 Oak St. in the Walter W. and Ellen S. Beach household.  Her age was 62, marital status "married", she stated that she was married at age 19.  Charles B. Harrison was listed in Kalamazoo, ED# 25, sheet 5B, age 68, marital status "married", he was a patient at the State Hospital on Oakland Dr.  Charles and Dora are both buried in Sherwood Cemetery, in Branch County, Michigan (they are listed in "Rural Cemeteries of Branch County", Charles is listed as "Charles B. Harrison, 1861-1933" and Dora is shown as "Dora E. Harrison 1867-1942").

Their three children were:

(15.1.1.2.3.1)/(13.7.2.3.1) Fern Carrie Harrison, was born on 6 September 1885.  Fern married Ray Fuller on 21 September 1904, Kalamazoo County Marriages Book 6, page 221, #7483.  Ray and Fern are both listed in the partial transcription of Riverside Cemetery, in Kalamazoo.  Her date of death is listed as 1914, Ray died in 1919, which explains why three of their children were living with her parents in the 1920 census above.  The children were separated after their parents died, Ina shows up in later censuses living with her Aunt Winona (see below) and Harrison Fuller lived with his great grandmother Sarah Hazen and her son.  Miriam worked on another farm but is not listed on later censuses.  Their five children were:

Fuller, born on 16 March 1905 in Illinois and died on 29 November 1978.  Rex was listed in the 1930 Federal Census of Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan, ED# 20, sheet 19A, marital status single, age 24, working as a "automatic switchman" --the next word is unreadable.


Dora (Hazen) Harrison and grandson, Bernard Fuller.

(15.1.1.2.3.1.2)/(13.7.2.3.1.2) Marion Bernard Fuller, born on 24 August 1907 in Michigan and died in April 1992.  In the 1930 Federal Census of Flint, Genesee County, Michigan ED# 55, sheet 4A, Bernard was listed as a lodger, marital status single, age 23, working as a real estate broker.


(15.1.1.2.3.1.3)/(13.7.2.3.1.3) Harrison Fuller, born on 30 May 1909 and died on 15 March 1980.


(15.1.1.2.3.1.4)/(13.7.2.3.1.4) Miriam Fuller, born on 29 May 1911.


(15.1.1.2.3.1.5)/(13.7.2.3.1.5) Ina Maud Fuller, born on 20 July 1914 in Michigan and died on 9 March 1984.


 (15.1.1.2.3.2)/(13.7.2.3.2) Rex Harrison, born in 1890, he was killed in a house fire on 18 May 1895.  Rex is buried in Sherwood Cemetery, in Branch County, Michigan.

(15.1.1.2.3.3)/(13.7.2.3.3) Winona Belle Harrison, born on 26 August 1904, she married Alfred Parks.  they had one son:

(15.1.1.2.4)/(13.7.2.4) Frederick B. Harrison, born on 1867, in Michigan and died on 27 November 1889 in  Geneva Township, Van Buren County, Michigan.  He was killed by a team of Horses, his age at death was 24 years, 4 months, 11 days.


(15.1.1.2.5)/(13.7.2.5) Harriet Harrison, born in about 1868 In Michigan.  "Hattie" married John S. Schultz, in 1881, Kalamazoo County, Volume 4, page 298, #4584.


(15.1.1.2.6)/(13.7.2.6) Adelbert D. Harrison, died on 22 September 1878, cause of death "cholera infantum", age at death 4 years, 1 month, 20 days, in Climax, Kalamazoo County, Michigan.


(15.1.1.2.7)/(13.7.2.7) M. O.  Harrison, died on 20 December 1883, cause of death "scarlet fever", age at death 1 year, 8 months, 30 days, in Geneva Township, Van Buren County, Michigan (Michigan Death Index 1867-1884).
