Descendants of Martha Harrison and Horace Oscar Vining  
Descendants of Martha Harrison, Martha was the daughter of Elias Stillwell Harrison and his second wife Maria Gardner.  Listed below are her children from her second marriage to Horace Oscar Vining.
 



 

The children of Martha Harrison and Horace Oscar Vining were:


(13.7.9.3) Horace W. Vining, was born in about 1875 in Minnesota and died on 9 August 1930 in Hennepin County, Minnesota.  Horace married Veronica Lucas.  In the 1910 Federal Census of St. Paul, 10th Ward, Ramsey County, Minnesota, sheet 2A (ED# is unreadable), Horace and Veronica were ages 35 and 25 respectively.  His occupation and their places of birth etc. were all unreadable.  They had no children in 1910.  In the 1920 Federal Census of Minneapolis, 12th Ward, Hennepin County, Minnesota, ED# 214, sheet 16B their household listed:

Horace was age 55, occupatiuon listed as a switchman for the railway in the 1930 Federal Census of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, ED# 215, sheet 6A (street address listed as 2431 24th Street So.).  His wife, "Verna R.", listed her age as 45, their son, Roy T. was age 20 and listed his occupation as "checkes mail order".  Their son was:

(13.7.9.3.1)  Roy T. Vining, was born on 16 February 1910 and died on 19 January 1998 in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota (SSN# Death Index).

(13.7.9.4) Susan Elizabeth "Libbie" Vining, was born in January 1872 in Minnesota (the 1860 census data shows her birth in about 1876).  Libbie married David Stewart in about 1881.  The Stewart family was listed in the 1900 Federal Census of Fairchild Town, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, ED# 33, sheet 8A, enumerated on the 7th of June (Libbie and David both stated that they had been married for 9 years, Libbie stated that she had given birth to 4 living children):

Ten years later in the 1910 Federal Census of  Fairchild Village, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin, ED# 59, sheet 10B, enumerated on 15 April, the Stewart Household listed (Elizabeth and David both stated that they had been married for 19 years; Elizabeth stated that she had given birth to 9 living children):

In the 1930 Federal Census of Albion Township, Trempealeau County, Wisconsin, ED# 4, sheet 1B, enumerated on 2 April, their household listed (Libby stated that she was married at age 20, Dave stated that he was 21 at the time of their marriage):

(13.7.9.5) Jessie Adell Vining, was born on 12 August 1877 and died on 22 March 1958 according to the Minnesota Death Index.  Jessie married (1st) Harry Howell Aurandt.  Their two children were:

(13.7.9.5.1) Esther Violet Aurandt, was born on 1 August 1895.

(13.7.9.5.2) William Henry Aurandt, was born on 8 March 1897 and died on 13 November 1973.  He was married (1st) to Sophie Olcha (they had 1 child) and (2nd) to Regina Hirscher (they had 5 children).

Jessie married (2nd) Winifred Eugene Chapman in about 1902, (see previous page under Martha Harrison) Winifred was the son of Daniel W. Chapman and Laura Dickson, he was born in January 1881.  "Winnie" as he was usually called, was ¼ Native American.  The Native American heritage is easily seen in his sons and even some of his grandchildren. He is buried at Riverview Cemetery in West St. Paul, Minnesota, his stone reads: Winifred E Chapman, 1881-1940 at 59 years.

The 1910 census listed their household in St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, however, the image is very faint.  Both Jessie and "Winnie E." stated that this was their second marriage and they had been married for 8 years.  Jessie also stated that she had given birth to 6 children, 5 of whom were living.  The five children listed in the home were: Eunice L., age 7, Herbert A., age 4, Chester age 1 and the two children from her previous marriage, Esther and William Aurandt ages 14 and 13 respectively.  Winifred listed his occupation as a "mason/building".

In the 1930 Federal Census of the City of St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota, ED# 109, sheet 11A, enumerated on 7 April, street address listed as 376 Blair Street, their household listed (their grandchildren's father's place of birth was listed as Bulgaria, their mother's place of birth was listed as Wisconsin--likely the children of their her daughter Esther Aurandt):

The six children of Jessie Adell Vining and Winifred Eugene Chapman were:

(13.7.9.5.3) Eunice L. Chapman, was born in about 1903.


(13.7.9.5.4) Herbert Admeral Chapman, was born on 25 July 1905 and died on 13 May 1977.  He married (1st) Irma (unknown), and married (2nd) Wilhelmine Marcella Gerlach.


(13.7.9.5.5) Margaret Chapman, was born in January 1908 and died in June 1908.


(13.7.9.5.6) Chester Eugene "Chet" Chapman, was born on 4 March 1909 and died on 2 April 1993.  He married Florence Marie Katherine "Flo" White, she was born on 7 March 1911 and died in May 1985.


(13.7.9.5.7) Daniel Winifred Chapman, was born on 18 December 1914 and died on 29 January 1982.  He married Irene (unknown), she was born on 28 October 1917 and died on 1 February 1989.


(13.7.9.5.8) Marvin Adelbert "Mac" Chapman, was born on 25 August 1917 and died in 1986.  He married Kathleen "Sherry" Sheridan, she was born on 6 December 1919 and died on 6 December 1999.


(13.7.9.6) Edath M. Vining, was born on 9 February 1879 in Minnesota and died on 18 January 1883.  She is buried in the Vining Family Cemetery.


(13.7.9.7) James O. Vining, was born on 12 August 1880 in Minnesota.  James married Bess Morehouse.  In the 1910 Federal Census of the city of West St. Paul, Dakota County, Minnesota, ED# 33 (sheet # is unreadable) James and his wife "Bessy" were living with his mother and step-father, Martha and Herman T. Cadoo.  James was age 30, his occupation was listed as a laborer in a factory.  "Bessy" was age 24 born in Washington, father's place of birth listed as Pennsylvania and her mother's place of birth listed as New York.  They had one son listed: Gordon J., age 1 year and 3 months.  James and "Bessy" both stated that they had been married for 3 years.  This family has not been located in subsequent censuses.


(13.7.9.8) Daisy Vining, was born on 1 October 1881 in Minnesota.  Daisy married Carl Adams.


(13.7.9.9) Harrison Vining, was born on 22 March 1883 in Minnesota and died in 1917.  Harrison married Marie Horejs.  In the 1910 Federal Census of St. Paul City, 8th Ward, Ramsey County, Minnesota, ED# 125, sheet 6B his household listed (Harry and Marie both stated that they had been married for 4 years; Marie stated that she had given birth to 2 living children):
