5.6 "Joseph Ake married Margaret Garn." Helen Arkey gives Joseph's date of birth as 1797 in Huntingdon County and lists his wife as Margaret Rebecca Garn; she also gives his date of death as 4 October 1849. Joseph Ake did die before 1850 (his father's will), and is very likely listed on Archie Claar's cemetery record as the marker with the missing name:
Name of Deceased Parents Death Birth AgeThere is also a deed/agreement filed in Bedford County, filed after Joseph B. Ake's death by his heirs and administrators. The deed is dated 2 August 1853, Deed Book A/B pages 347 and 348. The deed gives his administrators as Caselton Ake and John H. Ake, likely his sons, who were living on their own by 1850 (John H. Ake did not sign the deed, see his 1850 census data below)."Ake (name on marker gone) 1849 10 4 1797 52"

5.6.1.8 Albert Ake, was born in about 1865 in Iowa. The 1900 census was recorded by Nellie A. Behen, I believe she made an error, which gave me fits for a couple of days (either that or Albert became a little flustered when she was asking him questions, he also stated that he was born in West Virginia and his parents were born in Ireland). She recorded Albert's birth year as 1839 and his age as 60. It should have read birth year 1860 and age 39--she juxtaposed the numbers somehow. He was enumerated on the same sheet as his brother (see the 1900 census data for Preston Ake above) in 1900, street address 912 Jefferson St. (Albert and Maggie both stated that they had been married for 8 years; Maggie stated that she had given birth to 2 children, one of whom was still living; Maggie also stated that she immigrated to the U.S. in the year 1889):

5.6.6.1 Lucinda Koons, was born in about 1853 in Pennsylvania. In the 1880 census her last name is listed as Koons--the Nettlefield or Nettifield children were hers, confirmed by the 1900 census. Lucinda's last name in 1900 is difficult to make out. From the 1900 Federal Census of Fremont, 1st Ward, Sandusky County, Ohio, ED# 74, sheet 4A, recorded on the 2nd of June (Lucinda stated that she had been married for 26 years [her husband was not listed in the household] and she had given birth to two living children):#74 77 Gast, Lucinda Head Apr 1853 47 Penn Penn Penn [unreadable]"Loyd" Ake was a 2nd cousin, I believe he was a grandson of Susannah's brother Caselton Ake. Luckily the Sandusky Obituary Index provided some needed help with this family. The last name is indexed as "Netterfield", Lucinda's obituary appears in the index in 1928, she died at age 74 in Fremont, her name is also listed as Lucinda Koons (her maiden name--her husband may have been Sylvester Netterfield, his name also appears on her obituary listing). Her son Albert Netterfield is also listed in the index, he died in 1905 in San Francisco at age 28. I did locate Lucinda in the 1910 Federal Census of Fremont City, 1st Ward, Sandusky County, Ohio, ED# 608, sheet 5A, address listed as 515 Front Street (Lucinda stated that she had given birth to 2 children, one of whom was still living; Ada stated that she had been married for 3 years [Ada's husband was not listed in the household]):

Huffman, Ada Daughter 32 M Ohio Ohio Pennsylvania Finisher Shear FactoryJust to make matters more confusing--Ada apparently was widowed and changed her name back to Netterfield. She is listed as the head of household in the 1920 Federal Census of Fremont, 1st Ward, Sandusky, Ohio, ED# 71, sheet 16A:
#396 401 Netterfield, Ada Head 40 Wd Ohio Pennsylvania Pennsylvania none
Lou Mother 68 Wd Pennsylvania Pennsylvania Pennsylvania Nickel Plater Shear FactoryI think that the occupations were reversed when they were recorded in 1920 and Ada was working in the 'Shear Factory'. Ada Netterfield is also listed in the Sandusky Obituary Index. She died on 27 November 1948 at age 69, Bert Netterfield's name is also listed on the record--relationship unknown.
5.6.6.2 Margaret Koons, was born in about 1853 in Pennsylvania.
5.6.7 Delilah Ake, was born in about 1831 in Pennsylvania, she signed her name as Delilah Wetsel (or Wetzel) in 1853. Delilah apparently settled in Cambria County, near her sister Lucinda (Ake) Pringle. She is mentioned in Lucinda's obituary in 1900. The 1870 Federal Census of Carrolltown, Cambria County, listed (all were born in "Penna"):

5.6.7.4 Lucinda Wetzel, was born in about 1866 in Pennsylvania.
5.6.7.5 Catherine Wetzel, was born in about 1871 in Pennsylvania.
5.6.8 Lucinda Ake, was born in about 1833, signed her name as Lucinda Pringle on the deed of agreement in 1853. Lucinda and husband Joseph W. were living in Croyle, Cambria County, Pennsylvania (her brother Winfield was also living in the household) (online transcription). There were several other Pringle families listed, relationships unknown. Joseph W. Pringle, was the second child and eldest son of Martin and Elizabeth (Walters) Pringle, and was born in Summer Hill Township, Cambria County, Pennsylvania on 15 June 1828. There is a great biography of the Pringle family written in the "History of Cambria County, Volume III" , which also includes a biography of their son Caselton (it states that Lucinda and Joseph had a total of nine children, and lists their names and spouses etc.). The 1870 Federal Census of Croyle, Cambria County listed the Pringle's (all family members were born in "Penn"):
#70 69 Pringle, Joseph W. 36 m Farmer 4000 250In the 1880 Federal Census of Croyle, ED# 197, their household listed (all born in "Penna"):

Lucinda's obituary published in the Johnstown Tribune, on 5 March 1900, lists her living siblings and their place of residence. Their nine children were:

5.6.8.1 Caselton A. Pringle, was born on 5 July 1852 in Pennsylvania and died on 24 January 1927. He is buried in Pringle Hill Cemetery, Summerhill Township, Cambria County, Pennsylvania. His biography stated that he married Alice M. Bunton in "May, 1892, Alice M. Bunton, of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, daughter of L. T. and Hannah (Heeley) Bunton, of Pittsburg."In the 1900 Federal Census Caselton and Alice were living in Croyle Township, District No. 1, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, ED# 113, sheet 9 B. Caselton listed his birth as July 1852, age 48, Alice listed her birth as December 1871, age 28. Their niece, Mary Pringle, age 7, birth listed as February 1893, was also listed in the household. Caselton listed his occupation as a farmer, they both stated that they had been married for 8 years, Alice stated that she had given birth to no children.
In the 1910 Federal Census Caselton and Alice were enumerated in Croyle Township, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, ED# 107, sheet 27A. They had no children listed in the household and the column for mother of how many children was blank. They both stated that they had been married for 17 years, Caselton listed his occupation as a laborer for a private family.
In 1920 they were enumerated in Summerhill Borough, Cambria County, ED# 227, sheet 6B. Caselton was 67, Alice was 47. He listed his occupation as a laborer contractor.
