![]() John Henry Dunn was born January 31, 1885, probably in Fountain Green Township, Hancock County. He was the son of Elsie and John were married about 1903 and had two sons, Harley and Harry. Tragedy struck in 1912.
Harry was taken in by his aunt Fannie Kimbrough Beebe and her second husband, Jabez A. Beebe. Harley's whereabouts immediately after Elsie's death are undetermined. In 1914 John was reported to be living in LaHarpe, and in 1918 he was living at 81 S. Broad in Galesburg, Knox County, Illinois. He was working for the CB&Q as a fireman. Harley Dunn died on November 17, 1923, in Galesburg, and was buried next to his mother at Fountain Green Cemetery. By 1930 John Dunn had remarried. He and his wife, Ella, and Harry were living in Galesburg. In the census that year, John reported that he was a veteran of WWI.
