CLETA FLORENCE SCHUTTE (nee YETTER)
1910-1937

Mrs. Stace Schutte

Mrs. Cleta Florence Schutte, young wife of Stace Schutte, of 3031 Avenue N. Fort Madison, Iowa, died at the Sacred Heart hospital in Nov. 1, 1937.

She was the only living child of Ruby (Conn) and Walter Yetter, born in Webster, Ill., on June 20, 1910.  She grew up in the Webster, Fountain Green and Majorville vicinity, attended the public schools here, and while living in the Majorville vicinity was a regular attendant and very active member of the Christian church at Webster.

On Nov. 15, 1930, she was married to Stace Schutte of Fort Madison, Ia.  They are the parents of Stanley Leon aged 4, and Lois Joan aged 6.  This little group of three are heart-broken over the loss of a dear wife and mother.

Others left to mourn her passing are her mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Johnson of Cario, Mo., and father, Walter Yetter of Fountain Green, an aged grandmother, Mrs. Charles Yetter of Fountain Green, a number of uncles and two aunts, beside a host of old friends and acqaintances, both here and at Fort Madison.

Her funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 3, from the Clements Chapel, Rev. J. S. Ellis, the Methodist minister, officiating.

Interment in Oakland cemetery at that place.  The flowers were very profuse, speaking in their way of love, loyalty and sympathy from friends most dear.  May God in His own wise way, watch over and console this dear little family.

Mrs. Schutte had been in the employ of the Schaffer Pen Factory and was very skilled in her department.  And it was here that the fatal malady struck her.  It was of a baffling nature and in her three weeks of illness was not quite understood by the physicians.  Tests revealed it was neither infantile paralysis nor spinal meningitis, as was first feared.  Every known comfort and medical attention was given her, but to no avail.  For the first day of her illness her family could see the buoyancy of youth and strength leaving and as you read she quickly sank into the peaceful sleep that knows no awakening.

Relatives attending the funeral from Majorville vicinity were: Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Conn, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Callihan, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Parker Conn, Mrs. Mae Conn, and Mrs. Rubie D. Hobart.
