PATRICK KELLY
ca. 1851-1935

Patrick Kelly was the youngest child of John Kelly and Margaret Boyd, residents of Hancock County, Illinois, and the only one born in Hancock Township after it was so named in 1850.  Census records suggest that for his entire life, Patrick lived with one or more extended family members.  He never married.

He would have attended the local schools and during his youth would have worked on his father's farm, which was purchased by Patrick's elder brother, Stephen, after John Kelly died.

In 1880 Patrick was living with his older sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jane and John Wells, in Center Township, Appanoose County, Iowa.  Patrick was apparently working with John and continued to do so for the next 30 plus years.

By 1920 Patrick and Mary Jane were located in San Antonio, Pasco County, Florida.  In 1930 Patrick was living with Mary Jane's daughter and son-in-law, still in Pasco County.

According to the obituary of Frances Susan Kelly Martin, Patrick died in May of 1935.
