William Carroll, Father of 5, Dies Here on Friday

Last rites were held in the Walters and Son funeral home here on Monday afternoon for William Thomas Carroll, 38, of near Terre Haute, who died of heart and kidney complications in LaHarpe hospital after a brief illness at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 1948.  Mr. Carroll, a young farmer working on the Sutton farms west of Terre Haute, was the father of five children, the eldest of whom is 14.

Rev. Robert N. D. Yoak officiated at the funeral services and the interment in Majorville cemetery south of Fountain Green.

A native of Hancock township where he was born March 31, 1909, Mr. Carroll was married to Reva Londrie of Fountain Green an [sic] August 26, 1934.  The widow with the five children survives.

Mr. Carroll had resided on the Sutton farm for the past two years, climaxing a farm laboring career in which he had worked for various persons in this county.

William Thomas Carroll was the son of Charles H. Carroll and Sarah L. Stotlar.

Reva M. Londrie was the daughter of Lewis Henry Londrie and Rosa E. Roberts.  She later married a man named Gilmore and lived in the Rock Island-Moline area of Illinois.  She died in March of 1977, last known address (according to Social Security records), Rock Island, Rock Island County, Illinois.  Burial location undetermined.
