Carthage, Illinois, July 18, 1980

Colchester--Arlin F. Day, 65, of RR, Colchester, died at his home on Tuesday evening.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Jones Mortuary in Colchester, the Rev. Jim Rueburg officiating. Burial will be in Majorville Cemetery.  Visitation will be anytime after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Hillsgrove [sic] Church.

He was born August 8, 1914, at Yuma Colorado, the son of James L. and Beatrice Moore Day. He married Mary Mort February 3, 1940, at Kahoka, Missouri.  He formerly resided in Colorado and Utah.  He was a retired employee of King Seeley Thermos Company.  He is a graduate of Fountain Green High School.

Surviving are his widow; one son, Lewis of Colchester; one foster daughter, Mrs. Helen Myers of Colchester; one brother, James W. Day of Galesburg; and two grand-children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son.

Colchester - Mary O. Day, 68, of rural Colchester, died at 7:20 p.m. Sunday November 29, 1992 at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.  Born June 30, 1924 in Colchester to Wilburn and Mae Gillenwater Mort, she married Arlin F. Day February 3, 1940 in Kahoka, Mo.  He died July 15, 1980.  She also was preceded in death by one son James Day and an infant sister. Surviving are son Lewis of Colchester; 2 grandchildren and one great grandson; and one sister Mrs. Helen Myers of Colchester.  A lifetime resident of Hancock County, she attended Hillsgrove [sic] U. Methodist Church in Colchester (rural Tennessee) and was a member of the Majorville Society Club.  Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Jones Mortuary in Colchester.  The Rev. Jill Johnson-Scott will officiate.  There will be no family visitation.  Calling hours will be after 9 a.m. today until the time of the services.  Burial will be in Majorville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hillsgrove [sic] Methodist Church.

Mary O. Day

Mary O. Day, 68, RR 1, Colchester died at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, 1992 at Memorial Hospital in Carthage.  She was born June 30, 1924 at Colchester to Wilburn and Mae (Gillenwater) Mort.  She married Arlen F. Day Feb. 3, 1940 at Kahoka, MO.  He preceded her in death July 15, 1980.

She is survived by one son, Lewis Day of Colchester, one sister, Mrs. Helen Myers of Colchester; two granddaughters and one great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, James Day and an infant sister.

She was a lifelong resident of the Majorville area.  She attended Hills Grove United Methodist Church.  She had been a member of the Majorville Society Club.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Jones Mortuary in Colchester with the Rev. Jill Johnson-Scott officiating.  Burial was in the Majorville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Hills Grove Church.
