Elizabeth Ann Sibert was called Betsy as a child and, apparently, Betty when she was older.  She was a twin and one of nine children born to John Sibert and Anna Catherina Kube.

On November 1, 1877, Betsy married Daniel Ebert.  It was her first marriage, his second.  Marriage License  (73k)

Her obituary mentioned seven children, Daniel Ebert's obituary stated that five children were born to them.  We can account for the five.  Follow the link to Daniel for information on: Ira Guy, Ernest Gabe, Ella Pearl, Harley and Mae.

OBITUARY AND OTHER ITEMs.

Died, at her home one mile north-east of Ft. Green, Tuesday morning last at 8 o'clock, Mrs. Daniel Ebert, aged 39 years.  Betta Ann Sibert was born June 29, 1852, in Ross county, Ohio.  She came with her parents to this state in 1855, where she has since resided; was morried to Daniel Ebert Nov. 1, 1877.  To them were born seven children, four of whom, with the husband, survive to mourn the death of their best friend.  Mrs. Ebert has been a member of the M. E. church for over 15 years and a constant christian.  Her death is a sad blow to her family and a large circle of friends by whom she was greatly beloved.  The funeral took place at the Majorville M. E. church at 11 o'clock, March 3d, conducted by Rev, Cummings; burial rite at the Majorville cemetery.  She was a kind and loving wife and mother, an affectionate neighbor, and a faithful christian.  Her last word was "I want to rest; let me lie down and sleep."

Sleep sister sleep,
Sweet be thy rest oft needed before.
Well have we loved thee.
God loved thee more.
For he has taken thee home
To that bright happy shore.
