Emily shares this tombstone with her mother, Elizabeth "Betsy" Scranton Beckwith Woods.  Their inscriptions are on opposing sides of the stone and both record incorrect dates of death.  Emily gave birth to a son in February of 1878 and died on Feb. 21.  This death date is confirmed in the death index at the Hancock County Courthouse.
