HARRIET PARKER & JOSEPH LONG

Harriet Parker was born about 1835 in Ohio, probably Fayette County, the daughter of
Abel Parker and Margaret Gragg.

She married Joseph Long on October 29, 1857, in Hancock County, Illinois.
Marriage License (84k)

It appears that Harriet died within a short time after the birth of a child, Charles.  In the 1860 Federal Census, Joseph and Charles, 1, were enumerated immediately following Abel Parker.

We have found no further hard record of either Joseph or Charles.  We might speculate that Joseph was somehow related to Maria Long, who married Harriet's brother, Calvin, but there is absolutely nothing to support this, and it's unlikely Joseph was a sibling to Maria - Joseph's age and the ages of Maria's parents (assuming they were reported accurately) rule that out.

Harriet's place of burial is undetermined.

The son of Harriet Parker and Joseph Long was:

i. Charles Long, born about 1858 or '59, probably in or near Fountain Green Township, Hancock County, Illinois.
