My Ladd ancestors were from New England, having emigrated from England
in 1633. Much of the early history is covered in The Ladd Family
book by Warren Ladd. (my 4th cousin 4 times removed) My great-great
grandfather George W. Ladd left NH as a young man in the early 1800s and
travelled southward to Virginia and on to SC.

My interest is in the Kendall line and have not been able to obtain
information on George C. Kendall. I also would like to expand the
Ladd line through the Mead, Gould and Ames families. Helen Marr Ladd
Kendall shows up on the 1880 census in the same household as her father
Nathaniel G. Ladd in Malden, Middlesex, MA so any information on Helen
or her father Nathaniel such as their death dates would be helpful. Nathaniel
was a prominent doctor in his area so obituaries should be findable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Robert Ladd
Horace Ladd b. Vernon (Tolland Co.). CT 1789. He MAY have been an only
child, and is listed in the Family Tree Maker WFT CD set. The same source
lists his father as being David Ladd, mother Betsey Rogers (no other children
besides Horace listed). Since Horace Ladd was one of the earliest settlers
in Portage Co, Ohio, much has been written about him in the histories of
that area. They describe him as making the trek to Ohio with other Ladd's
who were all children of a Daniel Ladd. Two other trees I've seen posted
on web trace their ancestors through these early Ohio Ladd immigrants to
Daniel Ladd b 1747. The same Daniel Ladd listed in the The Ladd Family
Book 1890 as #203, son of Ezekiel Ladd/Hannah Bigelow of Tolland, CT, son
of Jonathan Ladd/Susannah Kingsbury of Haverhill (moved to Tolland, CT),
son of Samuel Ladd/Martha Corliss, son of Daniel of Haverhill.
I "believe" that Horace's father was actually Daniel's younger brother
David b.1757 #208 in the Ladd book. This would agree with the WFT data
as his father being a David Ladd , and that his travelling companions who
he would together with establish the town of Mantua, Ohio, were actually
his cousins.
