In June of 1980 when Nicole was just one years old she moved with her parents from Kittery, Maine to military housing in Charleston, SC. Nicole moved next door to Shauna who was just beginning to walk. Their friendship began that week and although their parents have retired and moved in different directions, their friendship has lasted through letters and phone calls expanding twenty-years. It has been five years since they have seen each other and on Sept. 9, 2001, Shauna made a visit from her home in Kansas to Lynn Haven, FL for a week of what will become an unforgettable experience and something that they can once again share for the rest of their lives. On Sept. 11, 2001 they sat and watched first in horror, then in disbelief as the events unfolded while America was being attacked by terrorism. Dispite the turmoil in our country and the saddness that it brought to the innocent individuals and their families, they were determined that those idiots who brought havoc to their country were not going to destroy their spirit. They continued their plans and had a wonderful visit together.
