Clarence Edward DYE [Parents] was born 27 Sep 1942. He died 27 Sep 2004 and was buried in Hess Family Cemetery, Horton Ridge, Russell Co., VA. Clarence married Connie Lee SPARKS.

CEDAR BLUFF – Mr. Clarence Edward Dye, age 62, of 201 Edgewater Drive, passed
away Monday, Sept. 27, 2004, in a Richlands hospital, following a lengthy
illness.

He was born in Richlands and was the son of the late Howard C. and Dixie V. Hess
Dye, both Russell County natives.

He had made his home in the Cedar Bluff area most of his life and was a former
employee of Bolton Screw Co. of Cleveland, Ohio, and a former coal miner. He
attended Honaker High School and was of the Holiness faith. He was a U.S. Army
Vietnam veteran and a member of the American Legion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby C. Dye
and Omega Dye; and one brother, Luther Daniel Dye.

Survivors are: his wife, Connie Lee Sparks Dye; eight daughters, Mrs. Tracy Page
and husband Jim of Cairo, Egypt, Miss Amanda Dye of Richlands, Mrs. Joyce
Shelton of Cedar Bluff, Mrs. Tammy Dingus and husband Tim of Abingdon, Mrs. Judy
Sisk and husband Rick of Richlands, Mrs. Janet Bonney and husband Roy of
Claypool Hill, Va., and Mrs. Christy Masingo and husband of Morristown, Tenn.;
one sister, Mrs. Delcie Dye Yates and husband Miles of Lebanon; three brothers,
Mr. Homer Dye and wife Dorothy of Cedar Bluff, Mr. Jim Dye and wife Sylvia of
Cedar Bluff and Mr. Willie Dye and wife Phyllis of Cedar Bluff; 10
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Clarence Edward Dye will be conducted Friday, Oct. 1,
2004, at 2 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, with the Rev.
Dennis White officiating. Interment will follow at the Hess Family Cemetery on
Horton Ridge, near Raven, Va. Pallbearers will be Roy Bonney, Tim Dingus, Justin
Baldwin, Freddie Dye, John Ball, Eugene Dotson, Denny Dye and Jim Page. Honorary
pallbearers will be Jackie Baldwin and Bill Rasnake. Members of Casey-Shortt VFW
Post 9640 and Tazewell County Chapter 31 DAV will conduct military graveside
rites. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Thursday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral
Home in Richlands.
