Photo Album

My favorite photo of my Great Grandmother, Rachel Meyers b. 12/12/1838, and
married to Nathan "John" Marker, b. 9/25/1829 in Somerset Co.  We have no photos
of John, but his Civil War Pension file described him as blue eyes, and dark hair.  Rachel looks
very strong here, and I try to get a visual image of her each time I'm feeling wimpy.    :)
John & Rachel's sons.  Ira and David moved west, to Nortonville, ND, c. 1800,
and Dan, my Great Greatgrandfather, stayed on the family farm in PA.
Daniel Marker, b. 5/10/1866 had an extended family that included Mary Marker (on Dan's lap), Laura's nephew, Frank "Skinny" (Sanner) Marker (on Laura's lap), back row: "Doc", relationship unknown, Sadie Ellen Sanner Marker (Laura's daughter), and their son Charles (my Grandfather)
John's younger brother, Jake Marker, b. 6/20/1845, and his family. Jake's wife, Sarah Meyers, was
a sister to John's wife, Rachel.  1st row:  Harry & Carrie 2nd row: Sarah (Sade), Minnie (Mint),
Ida, Lou, Dennis  Back row:  Ella (El,) Liz, Ellen (Al), Maud, John, Susan (Suz)  Jake lived on his father's farm, about 1 mile east of Rockwood, PA
A favorite photo of my big sister, Nancy, c. 1943
