Moneynabane Townland
(2nd of 4 pages for Moneynabane)
FHL Film # 258455
This is a actual page of the Tithe Applotment list for Dromara Parish. This page is the second of four pages for the Moneynabane townland. Actually spelled "Munninabane" first, then sometime crossed out and "Moneynabane" written just above it. According to "A Genealogist`s Guide to Discovering Your Irish Roots" by Dwight A. Radford and Kyle J. Betit, "The Ordnance Survey in Dublin officially set the boundaries and standardized the townland name during the 1830`s, after the Tithe Books were compiled in some civil parishes."
The pages were old before the LDS microfilmed them. You can see how moisture has caused "bleeding" through from other pages.
After the name is the land measurement in acre, rood and perch. Then to the far right is the tithe assessed to the property in pounds, shillings, and pence.
